The highest of four technology levels in the Philips HearLink series. Here you will find who it usually suits, what it shares with the other levels, and which questions are worth asking before deciding.
The four levels in one table, and 9050 among them
Philips publishes a technical data document for each HearLink 50 style, with a Feature overview table by level. The table below copies selected rows from that table, from the miniRITE document (270403UK, 21.02.2024) and the miniBTE R document (285251UK, 01.09.2025). In these rows the values are identical in both documents.

✓ = marked at this level in the Philips table. "—" = not marked at this level in the same table. "Options" and "fitting bands" are settings the professional works with during the fitting. More options do not guarantee a particular result for a particular person.
How to read the table
- What is unique to 9050 in the series: a 10 kHz amplification bandwidth and the Airplane Program. In every other row 9050 is at the top of the series in the number of options.
- 9050 versus 7050: both levels include SoundGuide, Extended Dynamic Range and the Speech Clarifier. The differences are in bandwidth, the number of options in each feature, and the Airplane Program.
- 9050 versus 5050 and 3050: according to the table, SoundGuide, Extended Dynamic Range, Comfort Control and the Speech Clarifier are not marked at 5050 and 3050.
On sound processing in the series, according to Philips: SoundMap 3 uses AI-based noise reduction and advanced directionality. More in SoundMap 3 and background noise. Comparing levels by need and routine: how to choose between HearLink levels.
What is the same at all four levels, according to the same table
- Four manual listening programs, and a music program (HiFi Music Program).
- Handling of wind noise (SoundProtect Wind Noise Management) and soft sounds (Soft Noise Management).
- Changing volume and program on both hearing aids together (Binaural Volume and Program Change).
- Direct streaming and calls without holding the phone are marked at every level. According to Philips, calls without holding the phone are available on selected devices.
What depends on the style and version, not the level
Each level appears both in the miniRITE document and in the miniBTE R document. But each document describes the connectivity package differently:
- miniRITE (2024 document): SoundTie 3 with LE Audio, MFi and ASHA.
- miniBTE R (2025 document): SoundTie 4 with Bluetooth LE Audio, Auracast broadcasts, MFi and ASHA.
An older document does not prove that a capability is missing, and a document from another market does not prove that it exists in the hearing aid you will receive. So the connection is checked for the specific hearing aid and phone: the phone model, the operating system and its version. Philips refers to the Philips compatibility guide for this.

Who does what
- Philips: the brand. The feature table and the connectivity description on this page are taken from Philips technical data documents, listed under "Product information sources" at the bottom of the page.
- G-Sound: a hearing test at home nationwide, by appointment, choosing the level and style, fitting and adjustments as needed.
- A laboratory check, when needed: G-Sound coordinates further treatment with the authorized service laboratory for Philips and Oticon in Ramat Gan.
What to check before deciding: in which style and version the hearing aid will arrive, and whether your phone is suitable according to the Philips compatibility guide. Availability, style and compatibility are checked with G-Sound for each customer.
How to continue
The choice starts with a professional hearing test. At G-Sound you can arrange a hearing test at home nationwide, by appointment. After the test we go over the places you spend time in, choose a level and style, and do the fitting and adjustments as needed. Questions about HearLink 9050: 055-3333338, by phone or WhatsApp.

Who 9050 usually suits
This is a general tendency at G-Sound, not a rule. Most of the rows in which 9050 differs from the other levels relate to noise, speech in noise and moving between settings. So the central question is how many hours a week you spend in places where it is hard to hear. Some situations in which the highest level is usually considered:
- Meals in a restaurant or café, with tables close together and music in the background.
- Large family events, with many people talking at once.
- Work meetings in which several people speak, sometimes from different directions.
- A day spent moving between settings: street, car, office and home.
If most of the situations on the list are familiar, it is worth looking at 9050 alongside HearLink 7050. If they are rare, another level may meet the need. All levels and styles on one page: Philips HearLink 50 levels and styles.
Questions to ask yourself before choosing 9050
- In which places do I find it hard to hear today, and how many times a week am I there?
- Do I give up gatherings or conversations because of noise?
- How important is it to me to hear phone calls directly in the hearing aid, and which phone do I have?
- Which style is comfortable for me: a speaker inside the canal (miniRITE R) or a thin tube or hook (miniBTE R)?
Bring the answers to the consultation, together with hearing test results if you have them, and your phone.

Frequently asked questions
Questions and answers: HearLink 9050
What is the difference between HearLink 9050 and HearLink 7050?
According to the feature table in the Philips documents, the amplification bandwidth of 9050 is 10 kHz, and of 7050 it is 8 kHz. 9050 has more adjustment options in AI-based noise reduction (5 versus 4), the Speech Clarifier (3 versus 2) and Comfort Control (4 versus 2), and more fitting bands (24 versus 20). The Airplane Program is marked only at 9050. SoundGuide is marked at both levels. If the difference matters to you, it is checked at the fitting.
Does HearLink 9050 look different from the other levels?
The technology level is not visible from the outside. In the Philips documents the four levels appear under the same styles, and the difference between them is in the features inside the hearing aid. At G-Sound each level is presented in both rechargeable styles: miniRITE R and miniBTE R.
If I am at home most of the time, should I choose 9050?
Not necessarily. Most of the features in which 9050 differs from the other levels relate to noise, speech in noise and changing settings. Someone whose day is mostly in a quiet setting can also look at other levels. The decision is made after a hearing test and a conversation about lifestyle.
In which styles is HearLink 9050 offered?
At G-Sound HearLink 9050 is presented in two rechargeable styles that sit behind the ear: miniRITE R, with a speaker inside the canal, and miniBTE R, with a thin tube or a hook. The professional helps choose between them based on the hearing test and the shape of the ear.
Will HearLink 9050 connect to my phone?
That depends on the phone model, the operating system and its version, and also on the style and version of the hearing aid. According to Philips, direct streaming works from iPhone, iPad, Mac and selected Android devices, and calls without holding the phone are available on selected devices. Check your phone in the Philips compatibility guide. You can also bring your phone to a conversation at G-Sound and check the connection in practice.
Does 9050 solve every difficulty hearing in noise?
No. No hearing aid removes noise completely. According to the Philips feature table, 9050 has the largest number of options in the series in AI-based noise reduction and the Speech Clarifier. Even so, the result depends on the hearing test, the fitting and the setting itself. It is worth discussing expectations in the consultation.
