Oticon hearing aid with no sound or weak sound: what to check

In short: According to Oticon, when there is no sound, first check that the hearing aid is not muted in the app or in ConnectClip, and that it is on: restart a rechargeable hearing aid, and on a battery hearing aid check the battery direction, that the battery door is fully closed and that the battery is not empty. When the sound is weak, distorted or cuts out, clean or replace the earpiece (the dome or the earmold) and the wax filter, and remove moisture.

No sound at all

  • Mute: make sure the hearing aids are not muted in the Oticon Companion app or in ConnectClip.
  • Rechargeable hearing aid: restart the hearing aids to make sure they are on.
  • Battery hearing aid: check that the battery sits the right way round, that the battery door is closed all the way and that the battery is not empty. According to Oticon, it is also worth cleaning the battery contacts.
  • Dome: if it is dirty, clean or replace it.

Weak, distorted or intermittent sound

  • Clean or replace the earpiece (the dome or the earmold) if it is dirty.
