Custom Earplugs for Shooting Ranges and Shooters

In short: A custom earplug for the range is made to the measurement of the shooter's ear, from a flexible material, and ordered for the use you describe: personal practice, instruction or regular work at the range. The protection required at the range is set by the range and its professionals, and you use the earplug according to their instructions, on its own or together with other equipment. We do not publish technical values and do not promise a particular level of protection. We come to you at home or at your workplace, take an ear measurement, and your earplugs are sent to you by mail.

If you go to the range regularly, you know the moment a ready-made earplug shifts, works loose or starts to press in the middle of a session. A custom earplug is made to the measurement of your ear, so it follows the shape of your ear instead of coming in one off-the-shelf size.

Private customers order personal range earplugs from us, and ranges and organisations can also arrange measurements for several people together.

Who it is for

  • Shooters who go to the range regularly and want an earplug that sits the same way at every session.
  • Shooting instructors and range managers who spend many hours at the range every week.
  • Security and guard teams who train in shooting as part of their job.
  • Ranges and organisations that want to arrange measurements for several people at once. See Measurement day at your workplace.

Who decides on protection at the range

The type of protection required at the range is set by the range, the shooting instructor and their professionals. If the range tells you to wear ear defenders over your ears, the earplug does not replace that instruction. Tell us what your range requires, and we will make the earplug to the measurement and for the use you described.

For employees whose job includes shooting, workplace safety regulations also apply. Background: Hearing protection at work: what the regulations say.

What we go over before the measurement

Who you areWhat to tell us
Shooter, personal practiceHow often you go, and what other protective gear you wear
Shooting instructorHow many hours you spend at the range, and whether you need to hear and give commands during firing
Security or guard teamWhen you train, and what you need to hear during the work itself
Range or organisationHow many people are interested, who the contact person is, and where it is convenient to take the measurements

We also need to know whether you wear safety glasses, a cap or ear defenders, and whether you use a hearing aid. Earmolds for hearing aids have their own page: Custom earmolds for hearing aids.

Ready-made or made to measure

A ready-made earplug is available straight away and may be enough if you go to the range only now and then and it sits well in your ear. A made-to-measure earplug is worth looking into when ready-made ones move or are uncomfortable, or when you are at the range regularly. More on the difference: Foam earplugs or custom earplugs?.

How it works

  1. A conversation about what you need: where, how long each day, and what you need to hear while using it.
  2. An appointment is arranged in advance, and we come to you.
  3. Your ear is measured in the way that suits the ear and the intended use.
  4. The earplug is made to the measurement, from a flexible material. The production time is given after the measurement is taken.
  5. The earplug is sent to you.

Service is available anywhere in Israel, by appointment.

Before you order

  • What we do not publish. We do not publish technical values, and we do not promise a particular level of protection or what you will hear with the earplug in.
  • The range's instructions come first. Use the earplug according to the instructions of the range and the shooting instructor.
  • An earplug is not a medical treatment. If you have pain, discharge, irritation that does not go away or a sudden change in hearing, stop using the earplug and see a doctor. If there is pain, discharge, inflammation or a blockage in the ear, see a doctor first, and only then have the measurement taken.

After the earplug arrives

  • Clean hands before you put the earplug in and before you take it out.
  • A fixed case. An earplug left in a pocket or on a work surface gets dirty and lost easily.
  • Clean it as instructed. How to clean it is given for each type of earplug. If you have lost the instructions, contact us and we will send them again.
  • A personal earplug stays personal. It was made to the measurement of your ear and is not passed to anyone else.
  • Do not fix it yourself. If the earplug moves, presses or changes, do not cut or file it. Contact us.

Frequently asked questions

Frequently asked questions

Can I use the earplug instead of ear defenders at the range?

The protection required at the range is set by the range and the shooting instructor. If the range tells you to wear ear defenders over your ears, the earplug does not replace that instruction. We make the earplug to the measurement and for the use you described.

Will I hear the instructor while shooting?

We do not promise what you will hear with the earplug in. If you need to hear commands during firing, tell us in the conversation and we will check with you what suits you.

Can measurements be arranged for the whole range team?

Yes, you can contact us on behalf of a team. We come by appointment and take the ear measurement of each participant. The format and the location are checked in advance.

I use a hearing aid. What should I do?

Tell us about your hearing aid in the conversation. An earmold for a hearing aid involves more considerations, and we will check with you what suits you.

How long does it take to get the earplug?

The production time is given after the measurement is taken.

Please do not send sensitive medical information in a message. We go over the relevant details on the phone.
