What is different about factory work

Someone in an office uses an earplug now and then. A factory worker wears it for a whole shift, and sometimes moves in and out of noisy areas several times a day. So it matters that the earplug sits well in the ear and stays comfortable for a long time. That is why factories and workers look into an earplug made to measure rather than in an off-the-shelf size.

• Long shifts. Tell us how many hours a day the earplug will be in the ear, and whether there are breaks when it comes out.
• Other protective equipment. Safety glasses, a helmet, a mask or ear defenders. Tell us what the workers wear together with the earplug.
• Working conditions. Dust, heat, oil or outdoor work. These are details worth mentioning in the first conversation.
• Communication at the workstation. Whether the worker needs to hear colleagues, instructions or alarms while working. That is part of understanding the need too.

These are not rules, and they are not a professional recommendation for any workstation. They are the topics we will ask about, to understand how the earplug will actually be used.

What to clarify before you contact us

• Which workstations? A short list of the departments or areas where workers will use the earplug.
• How many workers are interested? And whether they all need the same type, or some have different needs.
• When can people step away? In a plant that runs shifts, think ahead about when workers can step away for the measurement.

A worker who contacts us directly

A worker who wants an earplug made to measure can contact us directly. We come to them by appointment, take the measurement, and the earplug is sent to them.

A factory that contacts us for its team

How it works

1. A conversation about the type of work, the number of workers and what matters to you.
2. An appointment is arranged in advance. Where the measurements are taken, for example at the workplace, is checked in advance for each case.
3. Your ear is measured in the way that suits the ear and the intended use.
4. The earplug is made to the measurement, from a flexible material. The production time is given after the measurement is taken.
5. The earplugs are sent to you.

What the earplug does not do

We do not publish technical values and we do not promise a particular level of protection. Which measure suits each workstation, and whether several measures should be combined, is a question for the factory's safety officer or professional adviser. Our part is to make a noise earplug to the measurement of the worker's ear, for the use you described to us.

After the earplugs arrive
