A custom earplug does not start with choosing a size from a list. It starts with an impression of your ear. This article explains why. We come to your home or workplace, take an impression, and the earplugs are sent to you by post.

An earplug in fixed sizes is built to suit a wide range of people; a custom earplug is made for one ear, from an impression taken by casting, by appointment. The impression also matters later: in suitable cases it can be kept for reordering, and it helps when adjustment options are checked.

What "by casting" means

The impression is taken by casting, by appointment. The earplug is prepared from this impression, so its shape is set by your ear and not by a general template.
