Changing the wax filter on Philips HearLink
How to tell the filter is blocked and how to change it, step by step.
Good to know
- The filter stops wax from getting into the speaker. A blocked filter can cause weak or distorted sound.
- Use only the same type of filter you received with your hearing aids. If in doubt, ask a professional.
- On HearLink 50 / 40 / 30 models the filter is MiniFit, and the same applies to the MicroShell earmould.
- On behind-the-ear hearing aids, the filter is in the speaker or in the earmould.
Changing it, step by step
- Take one replacement tool out of the box. The tool has two pins: one empty, and one with a new filter.
- Push the empty pin into the old filter in the speaker, and pull it out.
- Insert a new filter with the other pin. Remove the tool and throw it away.
