HearLink not connecting to the app or phone

The Philips HearLink 2 app can't find your hearing aids? Step by step for iPhone and Android, based on Philips support pages.

Before you start

  1. Check that your phone is listed in the Philips compatibility guide.
  2. Make sure the latest version of the Philips HearLink 2 app is installed.

Connecting to iPhone

  1. Open Settings and check that Bluetooth is on.
  2. (Rechargeable) Turn the hearing aids off: press the lower part of the button on each hearing aid for 3 seconds. You will hear four descending tones.
  3. (Rechargeable) Turn them back on: press the lower part of the button on each hearing aid for 2 seconds, until the light turns green.
  4. (Battery model) Turn the hearing aids off: open the battery door on each hearing aid.
  5. (Battery model) Turn them back on: close the battery door on each hearing aid.
  6. Place the hearing aids close to the iPhone.
  7. Open Settings → Accessibility → Hearing Devices. Tap the name of your hearing aids, or the MFi hearing device pairing option.
  8. When a pairing request appears, tap Pair. With two hearing aids you will see two requests. This can take up to a minute.
  9. Only after the hearing aids are paired with the iPhone, open the HearLink 2 app.

Connecting to Android

  1. Place the hearing aids close to the phone, within 20 cm.
  2. Make sure Bluetooth is on: swipe down from the top of the screen and tap the Bluetooth icon.
  3. Open the Philips HearLink 2 app. It searches for the hearing aids by itself.
  4. Allow the app access to location. Without it, the app can't find the hearing aids.
  5. (Rechargeable) Turn the hearing aids off: press the lower part of the button on each hearing aid for 3 seconds. You will hear four descending tones.
  6. (Rechargeable) Turn them back on: press the lower part of the button on each hearing aid for 2 seconds, until the light turns green.
  7. (Battery model) Turn the hearing aids off: open the battery door on each hearing aid.
  8. (Battery model) Turn them back on: close the battery door on each hearing aid.
  9. When the name of your hearing aids appears, select it. If the phone asks you to confirm pairing, confirm. Finally, tap Continue.
  10. Important: don't connect the hearing aids through the phone's Bluetooth menu. The connection is made through the app.

Still not connecting?

  1. Turn Bluetooth off on the phone and turn it back on.
  2. Close the app completely and open it again.
  3. On iPhone: Settings → Accessibility → Hearing Devices → your hearing aid's name → Forget This Device. Then pair again from the start.
  4. Restart the iPhone.
  5. If the hearing aids are also paired with an iPad or another phone, unpair them there and try again.
  6. On Android, re-pair through the app: Hearing Aids → Pair new hearing aids → Unpair Current → Pair now.
  7. Built-in troubleshooting in the app: More → Help & Support → Troubleshooting.
