Service and repairs
How service and repairs work.
Repair · First message · After the check

A hearing aid that does not work as it should disrupts the day. Here is everything you need to request a repair in an orderly way, without guessing what the fault is. The full service route: Service and repairs.
You do not need to know what the fault is. It is enough to describe what you experience. Four short details save a lot of questions:
A photo of the hearing aid from several sides helps, especially when the model is not known.
Cleaning and replacing a dome or filter are done only according to the instructions you received and the manufacturer's instructions.
The way forward is decided in the conversation, by area, type of hearing aid and type of fault. Depending on the case, a visit, a pick-up or shipping can be arranged, always by appointment. Service options and cost are checked in advance for each case, and you hear them before anything starts.
When a laboratory check is needed, G-Sound coordinates the next steps.
You get an explanation of the findings and the ways forward, and the decision is yours. Sometimes the problem turns out to be a simple part such as a dome, filter or tube; sometimes more extensive treatment is needed. If the question is whether a repair is worth it at all, see Repair or replace?.
When the hearing aid comes back, check it in your usual situations: a conversation at home, the phone and the TV. If the fault comes back or something feels different, write to us what exactly has changed.
If your hearing dropped suddenly, it is not a matter for a hearing aid repair. Sudden hearing loss is a reason to see a doctor without delay.
You can contact us on behalf of a parent or a family member. Say in the message who the request is for, which area they live in, when suits them and who will be there. If the parent finds phone calls difficult, the arrangements can be made with you, with their consent. It helps if the person who knows the parent's routine describes the fault, because they see when it happens. More: Hearing aids for elderly parents.
