Custom Earplugs for Groups and Institutions

In short: An earplug made to the measurement of each person's ear: for residents who use a hearing aid, for swimming groups, and for people who need quiet or protection from noise. Custom earplugs are made from a flexible material, to a measurement taken from each person's ear. There are four types: for hearing aids, swimming, sleep and noise. The service is nationwide: we come, take the measurements, and the earplugs are sent afterwards. In a group or an institution, we agree in advance who is interested and which type suits them. We come to your factory, worksite or office, take an ear measurement for each employee, and the earplugs are sent to you by mail.

What a custom earplug is

A ready-made earplug comes in a few sizes and fits most people more or less. A custom earplug is made to the measurement of one person's ear, so it sits exactly on it. It is made from a flexible material. We make four types, each for a different purpose. The professional details, which type suits whom and in which situations, are given with the approval of our chief technician, not as a general formula.

Earmold for a hearing aid

Swimming earplug

For swimming and hydrotherapy groups at a community centre or an institution. Custom swimming earplugs

Sleep earplug

For people who find it hard to fall asleep because of noise: in a shared room, next to a corridor or near a busy street. Custom sleep earplugs

Noise earplug

When it is relevant for a group or an institution

We offer custom earplugs as part of our work with institutions and communities when it is relevant to the people there. Some situations where it comes up:

  • Residents with a hearing aid whose earmold does not sit well, falls out or causes whistling. Here it is worth checking the hearing aid and the fitting first, and deciding after that.
  • A swimming group at a community centre or a club, where several participants want to protect their ears from water.
  • Residents who complain about noise at night, in a shared room or near a busy area.
  • A community where people are exposed to noise through hobbies or activities.

How it is arranged

  1. A list of interested people. The institution or community collects the names of those interested and the type of earplug each person is looking for, even if they are not sure.
  2. A coordination call. We go through the list, clarify what suits whom, and set a date.
  3. Measurements. We come and take a measurement of each participant's ear, one by one.
  4. The earplug is sent. Once the earplug is ready, it is sent to the participant.

Service options and cost are checked in advance.

Important to know

An earplug is not a medical treatment. Anyone with ear pain, discharge, an infection or a blockage should see a doctor before a measurement is taken. If there is a sudden drop in hearing, see a doctor without delay. And for residents with a hearing aid, an earmold that does not sit well is sometimes a sign that the hearing aid itself should be checked too; this can be combined with a concentrated hearing-check day.

To arrange measurements

Tell us about the institution, the people there and what you would like to organise, and we will agree the format together.
