Who owns the laboratory

G-Sound owns and operates the Haifa hearing-device laboratory. This laboratory is independent and is not the Philips laboratory.

Independent means that the laboratory is run by G-Sound and not by a hearing-aid manufacturer. It does not claim any manufacturer’s authorisation for repairs. When a device needs the manufacturer’s own service, it is passed on accordingly and you are kept informed. Philips has its own separate laboratory; G-Sound’s Haifa laboratory is not it.

What the laboratory does

The laboratory carries out technical checks, maintenance, cleaning, fault-finding and adjustments, and, in suitable cases, electroacoustic testing.

  • Technical check: finding out the condition of the device and the type of fault.
  • Maintenance and cleaning: according to the type of device and its condition.
  • Fault-finding: working out whether a problem is in the device, a part such as the speaker or tube, or the fit.
  • Adjustments: according to the need and the type of device.
  • Electroacoustic testing: in suitable cases, a measurement of how the hearing aid performs, made with dedicated test equipment.

The decision on what to do is made after the check, and it is explained before any work goes ahead. No result can be promised in advance.

Internal battery replacement in rechargeable hearing aids

Replacing the internal battery of a rechargeable hearing aid is one of the relevant services. Whether it can be done depends on the model and on the condition of the device, and it is decided after a check. It cannot be promised for every model or every situation.

Before you call, these first checks may help: hearing aid not working? and rechargeable hearing aids.

How to arrange it

G-Sound provides hearing-aid service across Israel. Depending on the service area, the type of device and the fault, a home visit, pickup, delivery or handling at the laboratory can be arranged. Service options and cost are checked in advance for each case.

  1. Call or WhatsApp the laboratory on 072-3333338.
  2. Describe what the device does, which ear and since when, and the model if you know it.
  3. Agree how the device reaches the laboratory and how you will be updated.

Deeper technical guides

The laboratory’s own website, hearingsound.co.il (in Hebrew), has detailed guides on faults by symptom, parts and repairs. This page gives the overview in English; we do not repeat those guides here.

What this page does not say

  • It does not say the laboratory is authorised by Philips, Oticon or any other manufacturer.
  • It does not promise that every fault can be repaired, or a set turnaround time.
  • The laboratory works on the device, not on hearing or the ear. If your hearing changes suddenly, see a doctor without delay.
